wget http://nl1.php.net/distributions/php-5.6.13.tar.bz2

# Unpack
tar -xvjf php-5.6.13.tar.bz2

cd php-5.6.13

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libxml2-dev
./configure

# If on the Raspberry Pi 2
make -j4
# Otherwise
make

sudo make install

# Reboot to make sure changes are effective
sudo reboot

# Check PHP version
php -v
